Memorial Day Weekend

I have no pictures to share but just memories. Most importantly let me start this post in thanks to our servicemen who are serving and have serve and protecting our Country. YOU ARE AWESOUME! Also our hearts and prayers go out to those who have lost their love ones during their acts of service and courage in protecting our country. GOD BLESS the USA! My nephew Josh is currently in aviation school in the Army. Not just anyone can just get in aviation school. He was chosen. I am not sure where he will go after he finishes school but for sure he will go overseas. We are so proud of Josh. Our family prays for him daily in our prayers. He is AWESOUME! This was a fun and busy weekend! Our family was GIVEN a pop-up by our friends the Belvins. What a blessing. This pop-up was given to them by another family and they upgraded . What a blessing to our family. This weekend we cleaned up the camper and got what camping gear we have packed in. For a camper that is 12 years old it is in really great condition . We are headed off camping this up coming weekend with the Belvins' and Robbins' family. The kids are really excited. Robert and I are even more excited that we don't have to sleep in a tent! Jason our son came over the entire weekend and stayed. I washed his clothes for him and doted on him. I really enjoy giving him the Momma touch. You just don't realize how much you miss them after they moved out. So I spoil him during his short visits. The kids love having him here because he is such a big kid himself. Monday Robert smoked Boston Butts ( Southern Barbeque) on the grill. Then we had all our Northern friends over. LOL. They all brought side dishes and we had a picnic . Between 4 families we had 10 kids in the pool. I forgot to add the 3 daddies that were trying to make the biggest splash off the diving board. The weather was great and the food was even better. My kids collapsed in the bed last night after swimming almost all day. SCHOOL IS OUT FOR MY KIDS! God is so great! Later !!!!

HE DID IT!

Introducing our 2o08 Kindergarten Graduated.Kindergarten graduation is a huge event at the kids school. We were so impressed on everything the kids learn this year and they were so cute especially our Elijah. Yes Mommy and Daddy cried even at kindergarten graduation . Wonder what we will be like at his High-School graduation? Probably in a wheelchair ;-) Elijah had a great year academically also. He finished with S+ ( which is the best) in most of his subjects. A+ in Math. His teacher said her is a GREAT Math student ( took after Daddy)...... A- in reading. ( took after his Mom) Elijah is a very good reader and scored high on his end of the year test. Loves to read!!! Introducing Elijah Robert Julian the graduated! This is his teacher Mrs Paddock ( as you notice she was crying in the picture too) She was a GREAT teacher to these kids. What a blessing to our family.

A Kiss

When you drop your kids off at school do you sit and watch them until they get through the door? I DO! Even with the teacher standing at the door I still have too. I have a visions of them forgetting something and they take off looking for me. This morning I sat and watch Elijah walk to the school door. He met up with some of his buddies and they took off chatting away. I am so happy he loves school and made so many friends. He looked so grow-up with his book bag on his back and of course this brought a tug at my heart as his Mom. He is so confidant and does not need Mom to walk him to class. Actually by the second day of school he let me know he was a big boy and could walk himself to class. Maybe he sensed that Mommy was longing for some sign that he still needed his Mommy. As he got to the door he stopped turned around and mouthed I LOVE YOU and blew me a kiss. He still is my baby and always will be. A friend sent me this from S.D. Gaede: "And so we are thankful for the reminders you give us daily in the form of our children. ....... Reminders that we are stewards of your creation, not its gods. Reminders that we tend the seeds that you have sown, but we do not determine the plant's growth. Reminders that our final duty is to honor you through our acts of service to one another, not to serve and honor ourselves. May God grant us the wisdom to be parents whose treasure lies is heaven and not in the applause of others."

Dr Phobia Conquered today

Well I made it through my Dr phobia. Monday I went to the foot Dr and a cortisone injection in my foot for my Plantar Fasciitis. Wow what a difference after having the injection. I actually can bear weight on my foot without discomfort. Why did I wait so long? Today I went to meet my new Internist. We went over my history and talked. I go back the 1st of June for my full physical and fasting blood work. My BP was on the border line high 140/90. Not enough to start medicine but I need to watch it. I GOT To get myself in better shape. Now since I can walk I am going to start getting more exercise. Maybe looking to going back to WW. I need to lose about 30 lbs and I just can't seem to do it on my own. After meeting my Internist I headed over to the hospital to get my mammogram. Since guy folks read my blog I will not go into detail but you ladies know what I mean when I say discomfort. I have a family history of colon cancer ( My Mom and Her Father) so I am going next week to meet the Gastric Dr. to set up some test. I really am glad that I am getting this out of the way. I have many kids raising years left in me . I am also looking forwarded to grand kids! I made it through my Dr phobia today. I still have my physical and many test awiting me but I did make the FIRST step today...

Edited to say: On my playlist you can click on the first arrow to stop the music so you can hear this viedo. It is worth the listen!

COUGH COUGH COUGH

I am not sure if it is allergies or a cold but for about a week I have been miserable. My nose drips, a persistent cough, and a sore throat. The kids have also had the same symptom's. I am beginning to think we all have a combo cold/allergy illness! Last night I started coughing and could not sleep.I drank cough medicine, ate cough drops, drank cold water and nothing would help. Then I remember a friend telling me she read that if you rub VICK'S on your feet the coughing would stop. I was READY to try anything! So I rubbed my feet with Vick's and guess what the coughing stopped. Now the Internet said's the Vicks trick is a HOAX and NO WAY Vicks on your feet will stop a cough. Hey my coughing stopped. Try it

What kind of Punctuation are you!!!!

You Are An Exclamation Point
You are a bundle of... well, something.
You're often a bundle of joy, passion, or drama.

You're loud, brash, and outgoing. If you think it, you say it.
Definitely not the quiet type, you really don't keep a lot to yourself.

You're lively and inspiring. People love to be around your energy.
(But they do secretly worry that you'll spill their secrets without even realizing it.)

You excel in: Public speaking

You get along best with: the Dash

It was just Chocolate

Caroline ( 9) had a dentist appointment today so she played hooky from school ;-) We went out to eat lunch and got a HUGE chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. As we were sharing our yummy dessert she said Mom this is a REAL bonding experience! I just love her sense of humor

Her part is Hope the cheerleader Jason heart was broken Morgan's special friend Tina died. ( She was only 29) Allyson is getting ready for the prom I am doing OK! My body is falling apart! Y'all will be proud of me. I have a confession to make. I HATE going to the Dr. I actually have a Dr phobia. I not had a check-up in three years. My mammogram is over due . I have a heal spur that will not go away. I am actually falling apart! Robert really got on me ( in love) this weekend about not taking care of myself and getting regular check-ups. He is right we BOTH need to take care of ourselves because we still have a lot of KID years to get through. So I made THREE Dr appointments for next week. I am going to the foot Dr. I am having a complete physical and a mammogram. I am here just sweating just writing the word DOCTOR. I go to get this 30 lbs off and start walking again. I can't walk far because of the pain in my foot . Hopefully the DOCTOR can help my pain. Do y'all go to the Dr regularly. I hope so ! Please don't be like me... I also having some decision to make about my service in Church. More on that laterI promise to be a better blogger! I need to be. It helps me to write all my feelings out! I just go to be more open.
